CAMBATANGO AT SIAM SOCIETY

The Tango Group "Cambatango" will offer a concert at Siam Society on Thursday, November 5th, 2009, at 7.30 pm. This is the first time a live tango group will play in Bangkok. The members of the Group are Lucas Sterin Pensel (guitar), Ariel López Saldivar (guitar), Carolina Cajas (bass), Koji Hirata (bandoneon) and Ruth de Vicenzo (singer). Ruth is known in Argentina as "the vinyl voice", faithful to the style of 1930 and 40's when the singer was considered another instrument of the band.

With two guitars, the bass, the bandoneon and the voice; Cambatango has impressed young and old audiences with its singular tango sound - part orchestra, part "criollo" or native-. Cambatango has performed in the main tango salons of Buenos Aires and has appeared in the movie "El tango de mi vida" (The tango of my life). The Group has also toured Japan with great success.

The Embassy of Argentina in Thailand is sponsoring this event to promote the tango music and dance in Bangkok. This is a good opportunity for the lovers of this precious music to listen to a live band and appreciate the sound of the instruments, including the bandoneon and the "vinyl voice" of Ruth de Vicenzo. 

Cambatango will also perform at the Gran Millennium Hotel on Friday, November 6th, 2009 as part of the Salsa Dance Festival and Tango Extravagance to encourage the people to dance at the rhythm of the live music.
